Almost everyone called me Rush, one guy called me Abe, cause my birthday was the same as Abe Lincoln's. In the 41 months I was in the service, I saw my wife 22 days.We got married when I came home during Boot Leave (8/10/42). During invasions I was on the crew that worked on one of the 22mm guns (loader, standby, gunner, trunion operator) everyone was trained to do all jobs.
