My father was on the THOMAS JEFFERSON during the invasion of Okinawa and the occupation of Japan. He was a deck officer fresh out of NROTC. ENS(LTJG) Roy Glover. Never spoke much about his Navy experiences, except the time he launched an LCVP without the drain plug installed. He said he ended up in 'hack'.
